Fable of the Porcupine

Got this very beautiful story that teaches a lesson about relationship from a friend via e-mail.

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions even though they gave off heat to each other.

After a while, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. This way they learned to live with the little wounds that were caused by the close relationship with their companion, but the most important part of it was the heat that came from the others.

This way they were able to survive.

The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but the best is when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.

Online Dating Tips in a Virtual World Where There's Plenty Of Fish

Another dating site that is becoming very popular especially to all music lovers out there is www.PlentyOfFish.com. It is fiery hot right now as a matter of fact when I checked back the site just a moment ago they were down or may be on maintenance mode.

The best feature about the site lies in the fact that it is absolutely free of cost. The connection with music is making the site more famous than the other sites that fall under the same category.

PlentyofFish.com is based in Canada and has an average of 20,000 people joining the site everyday.

However, if you were to ask me of my personal opinion about Online dating, I'd say, we must be very cautious because we cannot discount the fact that we don't see the person who is typing the messages. People can lie on the Internet. It’s easy to put on a front. Take note that when it comes to courtship, there is no substitute for meeting face-to-face.

You see, our profile pages can be used by scammers, identity theft and other kinds of bad people. So just a sort of caution, please take note of the following Online dating Tips:

1. Trust Your Gut Instinct
Your instinct is a powerful medium for knowing when something doesn't feel right. It is also a great way to measure when to move forward with someone and when to turn and run.

2. Don't Provide Personal Information Too Soon. Your home phone number and full name provide easy ways to track who you are and where you live. Armed with just your home phone number, a person can easily gain access to your income information, home address, and even learn the value of your home. So in the initial stages of communication, guard your personal information. As far as phone communication, see the next tip. Again, Never post your mobile number or e-mail addresses on your profile. Perhaps, you can give it out to someone maybe after exchanging several messages on that site.

3. Use a Free Email Account
If you decide to move your communication from the anonymous email feature provided by the majority of online dating services then provide an email address that isn't your regular one. Sign up for a free Yahoo!, Hotmail, or Gmail account that you use just for online dating. Don't put your full name in the From field - only your first name or something else. This protects you from a person being able to search your normal email address to find out more information about you.

Listen to Taylor Swift's New Single "Mine"

So, this has been so spicy hot on Google and Twitter - Taylor Swift's New Single entitled "Mine"!

If there's anyone who knows how to sing a song with a spark of teenage love and a happy ending, it's Taylor Swift. On Wednesday (August 4), the pop star's "Mine," the lead single from her forthcoming album, Speak Now, hit iTunes. On the new song, Swift sings about what it feels like to find a guy who's an exception to the rest.

"Mine" is all about the wonders of being in a happy relationship after surviving a rocky past. Without straying too far from typical Swift subject matter, the song features an uplifting country/pop melody and a big chorus. Source: MTV.com

Lyrics and the Audio below:
Taylor Swift Mine lyrics
Oh oh ooo o
Oh oh ooo o

You were in college working part time waiting tables
Left to small time never looked back.
I was the flight risk with the fear of fallin
Wondered why we bothered with love if it never lasts

I say 'Can you believe it?"
As we're lying on a couch
(?) And I can see it
Yes yes I can see it now

Do you remember we were sitting there about the water
You put your arm around me for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Flash forward and we'd been taking on the world together
And there is a drawer of my things and your place
You learned my secrets and you figured out why I'm (?)
You said we'd never made my parents' mistakes.

But we've got bills to pay
We've got nothing figured out
When it was hard to take yes yes
This is was I thought about

Do you remember we were sitting there about the water
You put your arm around me for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Do you remember all the city lights on the water
You saw me start to believe for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Woah oh oo

Taylor Swift Mine lyrics found on http://www.directlyrics.com.com/taylo...
And I remember that fight to bury it out
Cause everything was slipping right out of my hands
And I ran out crying and you followed me out into the street

Raised myself for a goodbye
Cause that's all I've ever known
And you took me butterflies
You said 'I'll never leave you' oh oh

You said
"I remember how we felt sitting about the water
And every time I look at you is like the first time
I fell in love with careless man's careful daughter
She is the best thing that's ever been mine"

Oh oh

Make it last

Oh oh

Never turn back

You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine

Woah oh

Yeah yeah...Do you believe it ?

Woah oh

We're gonna make it now.

Woah oh

And I can see it yeah yeah

And I can see it now, See it now, See it now

Yellow Lobster Caught in Rhode Island

Ever heard of a yellow lobster?

It may not be made out of anything that has gold content, but this yellow lobster that was fished out of the Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island is a very rare creature.

Lobsterman Denny Ingram was the one who brought ashore a yellow lobster last week on the East Passage of the Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. It was something that he had never seen before: a lobster that has a golden top part and bright yellow sides.

A yellow lobster may sound weird to many but this is something that is not that out of the norms. Many experts said that the different color of the yellow lobster was due to the gene from both of the parents of the yellow lobster. A yellow lobster also made too much noise when it was hauled in Maine in 2006 and another one in Massachusetts in 2009.

Experts say that the shell of a lobster has different colors: blue, red, and yellow pigments. This goes to show that variation on the genetic structure of the lobster can be anticipated. There are red lobsters, blue lobsters, so there are yellow lobsters as well.

Denny Ingram plans to have the yellow lobster kept as a display at the fishermen's co-op right at the State Pier in Newport.

Kara DioGuardi Fired From American Idol?

Just some days after the announcement of Ellen DeGeneres about her leaving American Idol, reports have it that Kara DioGuardi is also out of the reality-based singing contest due to being "fired". This is in line with sources that are connected with the negotiations being done for the tenth season of the hit show.
The reports that are being released over the cyberspace tell that the number of judges will be back to three. With the anticipation that everything will be ironed out, the panel of judges will consist of the remaining original judge Randy Jackson, multi-awarded singer Jennifer Lopez, and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Kara DioGuardi was said to have the chance of staying on American Idol Season 10 only if the J-Lo deal would not be realized. However, the thing about Jennifer Lopez appears to be a done deal already.
It can be recalled that Kara DioGuardi just joined American Idol during its eighth season making her become part of FOX's reality competition for two years. Her entrance paved way for the shakeup of the three-judge format. Meanwhile, the exit of Ellen DeGeneres makes her stay for just one year.
Whatever next with happen to Kara DioGuardi, the entrance of new judges is one of the many things that Idol viewers must watch out for.

Jessi Slaughter and Cyber-bullying

Another case of cyberbullying has become a hot topic on most forums and has become very popular on Google. In fact, it has made it to the top 1 as the most searched keyword on Google for the last 10 hours.

This is about the case of Jessi Slaughter (just a screen name) an 11-year old girl who has been getting violent reactions from her video that she uploaded on Youtube. The reactions, especially on the forum site called 4chan, has gone so violent to the point that the girl has been receiving death threats already.

What is Cyber-bullying?

Cyber-bullying is any harassment that occurs via the Internet. Vicious forum posts, name calling in chat rooms, posting fake profiles on web sites, and mean or cruel email messages are all ways of cyberbullying.

Jessi's case is a case of violence creating violence. It all started when Jessi uploaded a video on Youtube, with a username Kerligirl13, as a response to the nasty comments that she got from her live video chat channel on Stickcam. Her video on Youtube contains language you would not expect to hear from an 11-year old.

What is disturbing on hervideo is her statement that she would "pop a Glock in your mouth and make your brain a slushie" - which means she would use a gun against someone and fire it to their brain. She even formed her hand into a gun like trying to show that she's "shooting."

This news has gone so big that Jessi is invited to appear on Good Morning America. Watch the video below:

Again, the proper way to deal with cyber-bullying follow these rules:

Stop - Block - Tell

1. Stop responding to haters. Stop replying violent reactions with violent words. Don't answer back to violent people.
2. Block them from your e-mail or if the bullying is on Youtube, block them from your channel or from your facebook account.
3. Tell. Report the harassment to authorities. While ignoring the bully be sure to save the evidence so that school officials, Internet providers and even the police can properly deal with the bully. Cyberbullying may give bullies anonymity but it always leaves evidence.

Is Mel Gibson Dead?

It's been a trending topic on Twitter that the Braveheart star, Mel Gibson has recently died. Is this nasty news true or just another hoax on the Internet?

Well, I made a little research and I saw a post on USPostToday.com
Gibson is not dead, but he doesn’t seem to be doing too good either.

A lot of negative things have happened in his life in the last few weeks, culminating with the release of the tapes in which he is threatening his ex-girlfriend.

So there you have it. Mel Gibson is not dead. Maybe his career is. Kidding!

On the other side of the news, I saw this video trailer of a rumored upcoming movie. And the star is the cutest Dora the Explorer, except this time, she's in flesh not animated.

Dan Gilbert Says Lebron James is Narcissistic

Dan Gilbert, the owner of Cleveland Cavaliers, says LeBron James is narcissistic for leaving the team behind. This is in relation to Lebron James deliberate transfer from Cleveland Cavaliers to Miami Heat joining Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

Lebron James was quoted saying on ESPN:

"... the things that the Miami Heat franchise have done, to free up cap space and be able to put themselves in a position this summer to have all three of us, it was hard to turn down. Those are two great players, two of the greatest players that we have in this game today."

Gilbert also added that LebRon's move was a "cowardly betrayal" on his open letter to the Cavaliers fans.

This is how the open letter goes,
"Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us."
To read the full transcript of the open letter, please click here.

What exactly does the term "narcissistic" mean?

Narcissistic personality disorder is characterised by self-centredness, self-absorption and an inability to recognise their behaviour's effects on other people. People with narcissistic personality disorder won’t hesitate to take advantage of other people in order to achieve their goals, and will use people without the slightest regard for their feelings. Narcissists have an inflated sense of self and usually have an intense desire for admiration from other people.

What Happened to Steve Burns of Blue's Clues?

Do you remember Steve Burns of Blue's Clues?

I used to watch Blue's Clues when I was like 10-14 years old. LOL
Yeah the show was meant for younger kids but I guess I'm just a late bloomer. another LOL

Ever wonder what happened to Steve Burns after he left the show in 2002? This is how he looks like now.

Is Steve Burns dead?

I saw on Twitter that Steve Burns is dead. And then another tweet replied Steve is not dead.

Nothing puts a crimp in your day like finding out you're dead. Steve Burns is used to it. Time after time since 1999, in countless newspaper interviews and TV appearances, he's had to deny kicking the bucket. For some reason the public won't buy it.

The claim that Burns died of a heroin overdose first popped up on the Internet in 1998, according to the producers of "Blue's Clues," the kids' show that made the actor famous. No one knows precisely how or why the rumor began. At one point it was spreading so fast that Burns' own mother heard it and phoned him to make sure he was still alive (details from E! Online). Source: urbanlegends.about.com

Although almost every year rumor has it that Steve is dead, at present, Steve Burns is still alive. Check out his web site: http://steveburnsrocks.us/

The Best Things in Life are FREE

I have always believed in the saying that the best things in life are free. A sincere smile, a hug, a kiss, watching a beautiful sunset by the shore, lovely dreams, laughter, love songs, a pat on the back, sharing a special treat, sleeping on a soft bed, accomplishments, watching your favorite basketball team win, sitting by a fire in Winter, finding a seashell, moonlight, listening to the cute questions of a child, clear water, forgiveness, family dinners, bubble baths, a garden of flowers, finding a starfish, finding real friends and faith in God are just examples of free things that can truly make us happy. In this troubled world full of problems that could result to emotional stress, we should learn to appreciate little things that can make us happy.

Even those little freebies given to me like key chains, greeting cards, wedding souvenirs and etc can already draw a smile on my face.  Well, who doesn't love free stuff? Oh I just love free stuff. I think everyone loves free stuff. Having said all that let me introduce to you a site that gives a lot of free stuff.

Free stuff UK is a web site that showcases information about where to get free product samples, free music, free competitions, free games, free health tips and other fitness tutorials and even free cash. There are also free e-books, free eloctronic gadgets and a lot more tips on getting freebies online.

Invisible Braces

A good teeth alignment is an asset because it gives you the confidence to smile with all your heart. And a nice smile may brighten someone's day. But what if your not-so-aligned teeth is preventing you to smile with confidence? Dental braces may be the answer. However, a lot of teeth braces users are complaining that besides the possibility of having their lips cut up, the braces are making them look ugly and geeky.

It is a good news that Invisible Braces are now available!

I saw a video on Youtube about a testimonial of a patient named Ade who used Incognito Invisible Braces treatment for 3 months. He said he has always wanted to wear teeth braces to fix the alignment of his teeth but doesn't want to look around like having a train track on his mouth. When he tried Invisible Braces by Incognito he was quite impressed because it is small, discreet and tight. After about 3 months of using Incognito braces he noticed that there has been noticeable teeth improvements. He noticed it the way his jaws are lined up.

He said he is quite pleased with the result because after a couple of weeks of using the Invisible Braces, he is already speaking normally. Another good thing about incognito braces is that it is quite easy to clean after eating. He recommends Incognito braces especially to those people in their late or mid 20's like him because he believes that it doesn't look good to have braces in your late or mid 20's especially if you're working. But with Incognito braces, people wouldn't notice that you are using braces because it is placed behind the teeth.

He said the progress has been amazing. In just 3 and half months, the improvement of his teeth alignment is very remarkable. He used to notice a small gap between his two front teeth but now they are so closed to each other.

I can't wait to try the Invisible Braces.

Home Remedies for Acne or Pimples

Acne is a common problem among teenagers. However, the disease is not restricted to any age group; adults in there 20s - even into there 40s - can get acne. Although, this is not a life threatening health condition, this can still upset you and may ruin your day.

In order to better address this problem, it is important that we understand its main causes:

* Hormones. Acne by its very nature can be considered a hormonal disease. Hormones are responsible for the maturation of the oil glands in our skin. This is why children do not experience acne. The oil surplus created by these hormones may be instrumental in clogging hair follicles where bacteria grows and causes acne pimples and blemishes.

* Dirt. Based on my own experience, if I forget to wash my face before going to sleep or haven't changed my pillow for like 2 weeks, that's the time I see pimples on my forehead and cheeks. So guys and girls, it really pays to have proper hygiene.

* Stress. Are stress and acne related?
Yes. Stress can aggravate symptoms. Stress is any undue emotional or physical strain.

Examples of emotional stress:

* Anxiety regarding an upcoming big event, like a wedding or important test
* Bullying
* Relationship problems
* Overwhelming workload
* Health of a loved one

How does stress affect acne?

The average acne sufferer's skin contains clogged pores that they can't even see. Stress causes an inflammatory response in the body and can cause the walls of these pores to break. When this happens, the body responds with redness around the broken pore, and an influx of pus (a zit). Source: Acne.org

It's a good thing there are a lot of available home remedies for acne.

Let me just name about 5 of my favorite home remedy procedures.

* Mix honey and cinnamon powder until you come up with a paste-like mixture. Apply it to your face and wash your face next morning.

* Mix one tablespoon of groundnut oil with one tablespoon of lime juice. Apply it to your face and leave it for about an hour. Then rinse your face afterwards.

* Apply ripe fresh tomato paste on pimples and wash it after an hour.

* It is also said that drinking wheat grass juice is good for the skin and may prevent or cure acne.

* Steam your face for 10 minutes or have a sauna bath for about 10-15 minutes. Then pat dry your face. Wash your face with any anti-bacterial facial wash and leave for about 5 minutes, then wash off. Then use moisturizer to moisturize your face.

To keep your skin under control, observe the following suggestions:

* Wash your face daily, at least 2-3 times a day to reduce oiliness of the skin.

* Have a well-balanced regular diet with lots of fresh juices.

* Take a lot of Vitamin C and E because these are necessary to rejuvenate the skin.

Disclaimer: Results may vary depending on skin type. When acne is beyond control, please see a dermatologist.

Hey dear reader, please feel free to contribute any home remedies for acne you may have known to be effective. I'd appreciate it very much. ^_^

How to Get a Girlfriend

I was surprised when I saw a searched keyword used by a visitor from Google and found his way to my blog. He searched "How to Get a Girlfriend". Now, whoever you are, perhaps, google led you to my site because we have something in common. We desperately need tips to get a girlfriend.

So I've read a few sites and some magazines regarding the subject matter and I have come up with 5 major tips on how to get a girlfriend. Do you have your pen and paper ready?

Okay, first off, start with a positive mindset. You may not be the hottest guy in town but one thing's for sure, some girl out there may be just right for you and simply waiting for your attention. Be confident. To look confident, have a good posture. Avoid self-pity.

2. Be friendly. Try to reach out to more people. Try to be funny. But if you're not naturally funny, don't try too hard around her. Situational humor through good timing is more interesting than a practiced punched-line jokes.

3. Connect with her. Find out what you have in common, and reward her with a smile and a story of your own if she tells you something unique about herself to which you can relate. Don't pretend to be someone you aren't. You may think you will win her over with like-mindedness, but in the end she will find you out. Find a common interest, something you both like instead.

4. Show your interest. The best way to get out of the "friend trap" is to avoid it from the start. After finding common interests, make your intentions clear. Ask for her number. Give her your phone, tell her "Put your number in my phone and I'll call your phone so you'll have mine." Tell her you'd like to take her out for coffee or dinner, or whatever is appropriate for your age and interests. Try giving gifts if you can afford it. Girls are very fond cute cartoon characters and jewelries so if you can afford it perhaps, try spending a few bucks to buy let's say hello kitty necklaces.

5. The last and most overlooked part in how to get a girlfriend is that you must look for someone who is compatible with you. If you’re a geek that enjoys playing video games, then go for a cute geeky girl that enjoys playing video games as well. If you’re into going outdoors, then find a girl that enjoys the same things as you. Getting a girlfriend can be a very rewarding experience if you choose right and will enhance your quality of life to levels you never thought possible, who knows, she might end up being your fiance one day!

The iPhone 4 goes on sale in scores of countries this year, preparing Apple for its fastest-ever global roll-out in a bid to stay a step ahead of rivals like Google Inc. in a red-hot smartphone market.

The iPhone 4 will go on sale on June 24 in Britain, France, Germany, Japan and the United States and will cost $199 for the 16-gigabyte model and $299 for the 32-gigabyte version.

The touchscreen smartphone, which comes in black and white versions, will be available in 18 other countries in July and 24 more in August.

The iPhone 4 includes more than 100 new features including a front-facing video camera to allow for video-conferencing between iPhones, a better still camera, an improved battery and a screen with significantly higher resolution.

The new iPhone features a video chat program called “FaceTime,” as demonstrated by Steve Jobs, the Apple CEO and Jonathan Ive, an Apple product designer as they showed an iPhone-to-iPhone video conversation.

I got an e-mail an e-mail from a friend containing a link - http://bit.ly/dpzkEN. I clicked on that link and got a page saying play these games to get a chance to win an Apple iPhone4. Disclaimer: Playing the games does not guarantee an instant iPhone. ^_^

The Pros and Cons of Being a Call Center Agent

Being in the the call center industry for more than 3 years now, I have come up with a few things that I call "The Pros and Cons of Being a Call Center Agent". If you are looking for a job and you are thinking of applying at one of the call centers here in the Philippines you might wanna read a few things that I have listed below:

Advantages of working in a call center:

1. Your professionalism will develop and you'll become very courteous even when answering calls on the phone... at home. You'd unconsciously say your opening spiel even when answering calls at the premise of your own home. And when you realize that, you'll learn to laugh at yourself.

2. You've mastered the art of 15-min power nap! Because you can't sleep at daytime at home due to the summer heat, you'd gladly take advantage of your 2 15-min breaks.

3. You've learned to collect jackets, mugs and tumblers.

4. You're skin gets whiter because you are no longer exposed in the sun.

Disadvantages:

1. Because your parents rarely see you, they'd thought you're just a boarder and they will start asking for monthly rental fee.

2. You're friends will stop calling you because when they do, they'd thought they dialed the wrong number everytime you unconsciously say your opening spiel. , "Thank you for calling Monz Avenue. My name is Mon. How may I help you today?"

3. You're old friends will start avoiding you because they're afraid to get a nosebleed. And they don't like it when you start calling them "dude, bro, coach!" cuz they think it's OA.

4. You've become addicted to coffee. You can finish 5 to 10 cups a day.

Disclaimer: Some of the items above were exaggerated. Have a nice week everyone! ^_^

American Idol Season 9 Finale

It has been a long season for American Idol as this is the time Paula Abdul is no longer around and this is the last season for Simon Cowell. Ellen DeGeneres makes things lighter with her punches of comments with her first season as a judge. Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson continue to say the same things with just some variations. Season 9 of American Idol was not much about the contestants because they appeared to be low key with some buzz of brouhaha whenever someone great is out of the contest.

And so the finale: it was Crystal Bowersox versus Lee DeWyze. They come to the stage in school uniform and talked for a while with host Ryan Seacrest. Afterward, the Top 12 of American Idol Season 9 was complete in singing “School's Out for Summer.” In the middle of the song, Alice Copper joined them.

Next was an overwhelming performance by Kris Allen, the winner of American Idol Season 8, and some farewell bits for Simon Cowell. Aaron Kelly and Siobhan Magnus performed “How Deep is your Love”, and midway entered a couple of the Bee Gees. Michael Lynche with “Taking It to the Streets” followed, and he was joined by Michael McDonald. Comedian Dane Cook sang a song entitled “Simon Said” directly hitting judge Simon Cowell.

After the break, the women from the Top 12 of American Idol Season 9 sang “Beautiful” and “Stronger”. As expected, Christina Aguilera later came into the stage to sing some lines. Another Simon Cowell farewell segment was done by Ricky Gervais. It was then the turn of the guys from Top 12 to sing “I Can't Go for That”. The Hall & Oates medley was joined the group itself.

Crystal Bowersox made a rendition of Alanis Morissette's “Ironic.” Obviously, the popular acoustic singer sang together with Crystal Bowersox with “You Oughta Now”. Just a few bit later, Carrie Underwood, the winner of American Idol Season 4, came out with her new song entitled “Undo It,” which she co-wrote with Kara DioGuardi. Another appearance of Kris Allen entered the picture as he gave Crystal and Lee the keys to Fords.

Next to sing was Casey James with “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” shortly joined by Bret Michaels, the recent winner of Celebrity Apprentice. Lee performed with Chicago as this was the theme of the finale. Then came another farewell bit for Simon Cowell. In just a while, “Pants on the Ground” was performed by William Hung with Gen. Larry Platt. The farewell bits for Simon Cowell had its blast with the appearance of Paula Abdul.

More excitement rose in the air with the entrance of Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks and Kris Allen, and other finalists from previous seasons of American Idol. Take note that David Cook, the winner of American Idol Season 7, was not around. The finalists of Season 9 minus Lee and Crystal sang with Janet Jackson. She sang “Nothing”, and later blasted with “Nasty Boys”.

A flashback to the auditions of Lee and Crystal was shown and then they sang “With a Little Help From My Friend”. Joe Cocker joined them short after. Click here to read about it.

And so after the very long but fun-filled finale night, the results are in. The winner of American Idol Season 9 is Lee DeWyze. The farewell song for this season is entitled “Beautiful Day.”

With the loud audience triumphing, confetti falling, and the credits rolling, it was indeed the end for 2010's American Idol.
